The Tigers headed out to Brunswick Oval on Saturday night for a top-of-the-table clash with the second place Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault Lions.
The Tigers started well, kicking the first two goals in quick succession but left the door open late to allow HBL to level the goal count at quarter time.
Although, not raining, damp and muddy conditions made for wet-weather football with both teams down on kicking efficiency.
The Lions had most of the run in the second and kicked two goals to lead by 12 points at the main break.
A spirited Tigers outfit rallied in the third to hold a one-point advantage at the final change.
Both teams dug in hard in the final quarter with four points and top spot on the ladder on the line.
The Tigers kicked three goals in the last and survived a late push from HBL to run out 7.13.55 to 6.9.45 winners, improving their record to 9-1. The Lions sit one game behind on 8-2.
Saturday also saw Harvey Bulls bank four premiership points with a 13 point win over Eaton. The Bulls led by nine point at half time and kept the Boomers goalless in the third term.
The Boomers kicked four fourth-quarter goals in an attempt to rally but fell short 10.10.70 to 12.11.83.
Nine straight goals to one in the first quarter set the Bunbury Bulldogs up for a massive win over Carey Park.
The Panthers rallied in the second kicking six goals before being held to just two in the second half by Bunbury.
In the meantime, the Bulldogs kept putting on a show of supreme accuracy in-front of the big sticks to run out 9.4.58 to 21.4.130 victors.
On Sunday, the Augusta-Margaret River Hawks took a road trip to Collie in chase of their second win of the year. Both teams ended the first quarter on 6.2.38 with the Eagles breaking away to lead by 22 points at half time.
The Collie side pressed on in the third and despite a small Hawks comeback in the fourth, won 18.12.120 to 12.5.77.
To finish the round, the Dons kept their finals chances alive with an away win over Busselton. Donnybrook led by 23 points at the half and got on top more in the second half to win 16.15.111 to 12.6.78.
