
The next round of the City of Bunbury hard waste and green collection service will begin on October 10.
Hardwaste is considered as furniture or whitegoods while green waste is considered as being tree and shrub prunings, lawn clippings and leaves.
For efficient collection of hard waste, maximum quantity is three cubic metres with items no longer than 1.5 metres and metal must be separated from other materials.
Properties with more than three cubic metres of waste will not be collected and residents will need to make other arrangements for removal of the excess.
For efficient collection of green waste residents, a maximum of three cubic metres to be placed on the verge, prunings or branches to be no longer than 1.5m and no greater than 200mm in diameter and prunings are in bundles with cut ends towards the street.
Residents are also warned not to place their hard or green waste on the verge for collection more than two weeks before the collection date and to ensure hard or green waste remains in a tidy state.
A $200 infringement can apply to waste being placed or left on verges outside of the designated area dates.
Electronic or hazardous waste must not be left for kerbside collection but can be dropped off at the City’s Waste Operations Depot at 21 McCombe Road between 7am to 3.30pm from Monday to Friday.
The depot accepts computers, printers, monitors, keyboards, televisions, DVD/VHS players, stereos/speakers, fax machines, game consoles, scanners, telephones, kitchen appliances and most electronic items including battery-operated devices.
The collection dates for hard and green waste are as follows:
AREA A : Glen Padden, Usher, Maidens, Withers, Mangles and South Bunbury: Hard waste October 10, Green waste October 31
AREA B: Bunbury, Marlston Hill, East Bunbury, Rathmines, Pelican Point and Grand Canals: Hard waste October 17, Green Waste November 7
AREA C: Carey Park, Sandridge Park, Wollaston, Crosslands, Kinkella Park, Glen Iris, Vittoria Heights, Picton and College Grove: Hard waste October 24, Green waste November 14
