A lone ranger kangaroo, understood to be a resident at the Bunbury Wildlife Park, has been filmed luring a pigeon into its grasp for a “hug”.

The video shows the kangaroo swishing dirt off the ground quite spiritedly with its paw, inviting the peckish birds to come closer.
The marsupial suddenly hops up to a standing position and a person is heard saying “uh-oh”.
Extending both paws with lightning speed, the kangaroo grabs and holds a pigeon to its chest – for seconds too long.
The pigeon’s fate however, was not sealed with the hug. It instead managed to escape the embrace of its “friendly” captor. Fly on birdie, fly.
