Lorna Doe of Bunbury is the winner of a water-saving, front loading washing machine, given away by Aqwest for National Water Week 2016.
Aqwest chairman Judy Jones drew Mrs Doe’s winning coupon from 955 entries.
It is the sixth year that Aqwest has given away an energy efficient, water saving washing machine to promote National Water Week from October 16-22.
“The competition receives a fantastic response each year, while promoting the importance of water conservation by giving away a waterwise appliance that can save water and reduce customers’ water bills,” Ms Jones said.
“It is the highlight of our Water Week program.”
Mrs Doe said she saw the competition advertised in Aqwest’s On Tap newsletter which is distributed with water accounts and entered when she went into the office to pay her bill.
“I was only thinking a few weeks ago that my washing machine is 10 years old and that it is still going but it won’t be long until it isn’t,” Mrs Doe said.
“It was another thing I was going to have to start thinking about.
“When I was told I had won the washing machine, I couldn’t believe it.”
Bunbury residents entered by filling a coupon and posting it to Aqwest, emailing an entry to Aqwest or dropping the coupon in to the office at MacKinnon Way.
