Collie woman Lauren Jackson has been nominated for a Volunteer of the Year scholarship from international volunteering company IVHQ.

Ms Jackson was nominated for her work with The Children of Maasai Educational Program, a charity which she set up (and is now officially registered in both Australia and Kenya) after volunteering in a Kenyan school last year.

Ms Jackson raises money though various fundraising initiatives, which she then sends to Kenya to help send children to school and to purchase educational supplies.
