June 3, 2016: Bridgetown Police investigated a serious crash in Hester on Thursday June 2, 2016.
Just before 11pm, a white Ford Ranger king cab with five occupants was travelling along Hester Cascades Road which is a gravel road, when the vehicle failed to negotiate a bend and collided with a large tree head on.
The 19 year old male driver and an 18 year old male passenger were airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital by the RAC Rescue helicopter with serious injuries and are doing well following surgery.
Three other passengers, an 18 year old male, a 19 year old male and an 18 year old female, received minor injuries and were taken to Bridgetown Hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Bridgetown OIC Sergeant Phil Nation said the this type of accident reinforces the message about driving safely.
“This really is a timely reminder to everyone driving through our patch, and especially with the long weekend coming up, to take extra care when on the roads.” Sgt Nation said.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the crash or the Ford Ranger prior to the crash.
