A Bunbury woman caught drink driving in Carey Park earlier last week escaped an immediate prison term in Bunbury Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Helen Elizabeth Hardy, 51, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under suspension in relation to the February 13 offences.
The court heard Hardy was stopped by officers for a random breath test just before midnight when she recorded a blood alcohol reading of .225gm.
Hardy, who has three previous convictions for excess .08, said she had been suffering from anxiety and depression, and had been living a busy lifestyle over the past 12 months.
Her previous drink driving convictions stemmed from offences committed in 2003, 2006, and 2016.
Magistrate Evan Shackleton told Hardy she was lucky not to have hurt anyone that night.
He urged the mother of two to get her drinking under control.
Hardy was given a six-month prison term, suspended for nine months.
She was also placed on a community-based order with program and supervision requirements.
“This is not a get out of jail free card,” Magistrate Shackleton said.
“This is your last opportunity.”
Hardy was also banned from driving for a further 39 months.
She was warned she would face an immediate prison term if she committed any offence with imprisonment as a penalty while on a suspended sentence.
