Dalyellup’s Bella Burgemeister has been announced as a Finalist in the Scott Print Environment and Sustainability Award, part of the Western Australian Young Achiever Awards.
Bella Burgemeister, 11, created the book Bella’s Challenge, which is a child’s take on the UN 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development. Bella pitched her project in front of 100 adults and was granted a micro-grant of $1300 for printing and distribution.
Primary schools in greater Bunbury, are being donated a copy of Bella’s book.
As Junior President for Millennium Kids, she attends workshops to receive public speaking development and specific sustainability development skills.
The finalists will be presented and Winners announced at an Awards Gala Presentation Dinner to be held at Pan Pacific Perth on Friday evening 12th May. Great prizes are up for grabs with a $1000 Bartercard account, $1000 cash and a magnificent trophy for each category winner.
One of the eight category winners will be chosen as the Western Australian Young Achiever of the Year and will received an additional $1000 Bartercard account, $1000 cash and a state trophy.
All finalists will go into the Catholic Education Western Australia People’s Choice Award.
