There was a lot going on around Collie at the time of May 2008.
Many spectators turned out to the Federal Hotel to watch all the action of the Tom Lowry Memorial Cycle Race.
Henry Morley from Atomic Brook Cycling Club was the winner, defeating the tough competition, including runner up Elliot Wells.
A record-breaking crowd of about 15,000 music fans turned out to watch the Triple J One Night Stand music festival.
The Worlsey Alumina refinery got a $3 million dollar expansion which provided 4000 jobs for the South West region.
