Households in Collie are being reminded by the Water Corporation of the current sprinkler ban in place.
Warnings and fines can be issued by the Water Corporation to people who are non-compliant with the current restrictions in place.
Water Corporation Regional Engagement and Communications Officer South West region Tony Snelling said Collie residents, like the vast majority of people in the South West, comply with the Winter Sprinkler Ban.
The winter sprinkler ban runs from June 1 to August 31 each year and applies to all scheme and bore water users in Perth, Mandurah and some parts of the South West, including Collie.
During the current winter sprinkler ban period for 2017 there has been no warnings or fines issued for the Collie and Allanson areas.
During the 2016 winter sprinkler ban period there was one warning and no infringements issued in the Collie area, and no warnings or infringements issued in the Allanson area.
The ban was put in place in 2010, and aims to prevent wastage and save water for the drier months.
Last winter West Australians saved around 4.8 billion litres of water by switching off our sprinklers and letting the rain take care of our gardens.
