Local hockey star Emily Antonovich has been awarded the runner-up best and fairest award for the South West Hockey League.
The 16 year-old Allanson resident was announced as the award recipient at a presentation on Sunday night.
“I was quite surprised and a bit shocked but I was happy,” Emily said.
The year 11 Manea Senior College student also took out the Vernon award for the highest votes in the Collie competition for Intermediates and A-grade combined.
Emily was voted fairest and best and highest goal scorer for Collie Intermediates and fairest and best in the Intermediates grand final.
Emily currently plays for Mustangs in the Collie competition and for the Collie team in the South West League.
The keen hockey player will travel to Adelaide in December as part of the State School Girls team, competing in the Pacific School Games.
The Pacific School games has over 350 athletes attending representing different sports in an Olympic style competition.
