Australian singer-songwriter Kim Churchill is eagerly anticipating touring Australia later this month.

The musician is heading to Fremantle and the South West as part of his whirlwind Weight_Falls Australian album tour.
The tour hits Bunbury’s Prince of Wales Hotel on Saturday, October 14.
The Mail caught up with Churchill over the phone, as the singer-songwriter sat comfortably in a Sydney dog park while watching the world go by.
Churchill noted the great outdoors and friendly interactions are essential to his love for touring Western Australia.
“I love doing that stretch down south because of how beautiful that landscape is and the beaches and the walks and stuff like that,” he said.
“Always for me, the highlight of going to Western Australia is the people you play to – they are just always so up for it and so wonderful to perform to.”
Churchill is no stranger to travelling around and sharing his craft.
After touring debut LP Silence/Win in 2014 and 2015, he went around the globe and performed to Glastonbury and Telluride Blues Festival audiences.
The new tour follows the release of Churchill’s latest album back in August.
Churchill had spent 18 months working on the sophomore album. Close to its release, the musician made the tough decision to scrap everything and start over.
“I was a little bit worried because I had a lot of different record labels backing me on this release so I felt like it would make everybody question what the hell was going on with me,” he said.
“So I said I would have them a new album within a week and I wrote the new album in one week and sent them back all the demos.
They all decided they loved the demos and then I recorded it in a little garage studio in Sydney over the month after that.”
The singer-songwriter noted his positive attitude and optimism stem from a deep-seeded love of music.
“Essentially what I always wanted was to be a professional guitarist since I fell in love with song-writing and performing my own songs and singing especially,” he said.
“It’s wonderful to be doing that and I hope to be doing it forever.”
