The Collie PCYC officially opened their newly renovated Teenage Hangout room last Friday.
The Teenage Hangout room resulted through a collaboration with Bendigo Bank, Mick Murray MLA and the South West Development Commission, who all helped to fund the project. Collie PCYC manager Linda Gallagher said they were grateful to all who helped fund the project.
“The kids love their new room, and everything it now contains. Our teenage numbers are already increasing as they spread the word on just how awesome their new hang out room is,” she said.
“Our Safe Sanctuary Program offers a safe place for youth aged 10-18 to hang out and keep off the streets. At Collie PCYC we promote team work, building resilience, unity and respect.”
Member for Collie – Preston Mick Murray said it has been a great year for the Collie PCYC, who have been nominated and won several awards.
“The team hear are doing a great job and its why I am so happy to be able to support them with a grant of $5000,” he said.
