The South West Indian Group are eagerly anticipating the 2017 Diwali Festival of Lights on November 4 at Bunbury’s Italian Club to celebrate India Day.
SWIG President Dr Parthasarathy Ramesh said he was excited about this year’s unique event and thanked the Consulate General of India, Perth and the City of Bunbury for their ongoing support.
This year’s free event will run from 10am to 5.30pm with multiple Indian themed stalls, Indian food vendors along with workshops in yoga, meditations, Bollywood dancing, henna, rangoli, warli art and Indian catering.
In the afternoon there will also be entertainment, including performances by local school children, zumba, classical dancers, bhangra and fire dancers.
The family friendly event is also a prelude to other community events SWIG are planning in the coming months including screenings of Bollywood films.
