Collie artist Frank Over has found a new way to express his creative urges - lino.

The retired Perth native, who has called Collie home for the past eight years, says he had a few off cuts of lino lying around the house and was wondering what to do with it when it struck him - use it to create something new.
Mr Over has so far created several works featuring native flowers and uses acrylic paint to colour the lino into vivid 3D works of art.
Of working with lino, Mr Over says he found it interesting and “it stretches your imagination”.
But lino is not the only medium he uses to express his creativity. Mr Over, who will be 90 next year, has been painting with oils, watercolours and acrylics for as long as he can remember and has even had a few exhibitions in Perth.
But it doesn’t end there for the artist, who has written several children’s books, a few of which have been self published. “Once you start, you can’t stop,” he says. “It’s like a fire in your belly.”
And he has no plans of slowing down. He says he still paints – anything from photographic to abstract works.
