Two members of the Collie Lions Club have been inducted into the WA Lions Hall of Fame.
Lyn Mitchell and former member Irma Needham were recognised for their contributions to the community along with two other Lions at a dinner in Perth on Friday, November 3.
Collie Lions Club vice-president Ray Zinner said it was a great achievement for the club which now has three members in the Hall of Fame, after Ms Needham’s widower Jeff was inducted in 2015.
“It is a testament to the dedication and community spirit that exists within the Collie Lions Club that three of its own are now members of the Hall of Fame,” Mr Zinner said.
“Between the three there is around 100 years of service to the Collie community and Lions in general.”
Ms Mitchell joined the Lioness Club of Collie in 1986 and has held numerous positions within the club over the last 31 years.
Ms Needham, who passed away in 2013, served as the Charter President of the Lioness Club of Collie and paved the way for women to take on senior roles within Lions clubs across the state.
Mr Zinner said the Hall of Fame was created in 2012 to recognise those who “go way above and beyond in their time and effort in making a difference in their communities.”
