Two South West builders were recognised amongst the best in the state at the recent Western Australia HIA Housing Awards.
Bunbury based Built by S and the Tallwood Constructions received five awards between them at the 2017 HIA – CSR Western Australian Housing Awards, which showcased the best building projects from regional and metropolitan WA.
Built by S were awarded WA framed home of the year, WA regional home of the year and were the joint winner with The Colour Royale Design Group for WA residential building designer of the year for their Quindalup project.

The Kinross Loop home received the accolades for the exceptional quality of workmanship demonstrated throughout and for utilising design and construction methods to blend in with its natural surrounds.
Having started Built by S six and a half years ago, with the dream of establishing the company as a leading South West builder, owner Simon Hancock was honoured by the recognition.
“Recognition at a state level from the Housing Industry Association is an amazing reward for the Build by S team,” Mr Hancock said.
Tallwood Constructions won the WA renovation/addition project of the year and WA outdoor project of the year for their exceptional craftsmanship on two separate properties, one in Eagle Bay and the other in Yallingup.
HIA executive director John Gelavis believes having regional builders take out these highly sort after WA awards is an endorsement of the quality of the industry in regional WA.
“It is great to see outstanding projects being built in regional WA, competing strongly against what is being built in the city,” Mr Gelavis said.
