The December 12, 2007 edition of the Mail saw a story regarding the State Government’s failed to deliver on its promise to reopen the Bunbury to Greenbushes railway line the December 1, 2007 deadline.
That week also saw celebration for Bridgetown’s Tweed Valley Lodge, which was judged WA’s best hosted accommodation.
The celebrations continued with Donnybrook’s cherry spitting champion Norm Bedford who placed second in the WA championships.
Competition organiser Jon Doust said there was only four centimetres difference between first and second place.
Meanwhile, hot on the heels of his earlier success with Bridgetown Hills, 16-year-old Bridgetown resident Gabriel Evans blitzed the field recently in the Art Idol competition held in Perth.
Gabriel’s painting, entitled Cultural Reflections, won him $1000 in prize money in the 13 to 18 year old section, plus a Waterford Wedgewood teapot valued at $300.
