'Despicable act': Lawn-stealing minion taunts WA man

As Kalgoorlie man Brad Nicklin sat on his front porch easing his hangover with a cup of coffee one Sunday morning, he noticed a patch of grass missing from his usually immaculate lawn.

Confused, he walked over for a closer look.

"I noticed it was done with a shovel, not an animal, so I went through the [home security] cameras," he said.

What Mr Nicklin discovered next, was a 'despicable' act like something out of a movie... literally.

Vision recorded the previous morning showed a six foot minion sneaking into Mr Nicklin's front yard and digging out a 20 centimetre circle of lawn.

The thief, who was dressed as a Despicable Me character, then ran off with the grass, shovel in hand, with the CCTV footage capturing his escape down a side street.

"We couldn't stop laughing [when we saw the footage]," Mr Nicklin said.

"Then I wanted to find out who it was.

"I've got a funny feeling it's one of my mates because I sent a Snapchat earlier that weekend saying how good my grass was!"

To add salt to the wound, the culprit has since created a Facebook page called 'Carl Minion' to taunt Mr Nicklin, posting a video of themselves watering the newly acquired patch of lawn as well as pictures of them running down the street with it shortly after the theft.

Ten days on, Mr Nicklin is yet to discover the culprit.

"All in good fun, but my beautiful lawn!," he said.
