Last Tuesday week Dale Jackson’s mare Nina Jane caused a false start before leading at the second attempt as favourite before being caught on the line for a place return of $1.50.
Later in the night two of Bianca Ashcroft’s charges ran placings, Tella’s third for Kyle Harper after sitting one out and one back netted a place return of $5.20 while Corey Peterson reined Call Me Ernie into second place from four back on the pegs for a $2.50 dividend.
Wayne Justins travelled with a team to Gloucester Park on Friday where he ran third with Mighty Flying Deal for son Jack before one of his consistent mares, Simondou Su, sat behind the leader for Jocelyn Young, running on into second as a $4.60 place chance.
The meeting in Wagin on Sunday was run in blustery conditions and Collie pacers did well.
Karen Wallrodt engaged Jocelyn Young for Lynnes Cullen who ran on into second place after sitting one out and one back, returning a place dividend of $2.10.
Call Me Ernie backed up from Tuesday for another second for Bianca Ashcroft and Corey Peterson for a $3.00 return.

Jeremy Thornton’s Simply Sweet came home along the pegs for her third at $3.70 the place with Peter Hemsley’s standing start performer Hillbilly Time facing the breeze before fighting on strongly. Supporters would have liked the $5.40 return.
Wheeler also attended the final meeting for the season in Kalgoorlie last Friday for a double and three placings with Matthew Saw training four of those.
Ebony Stride ran home late for third as a $1.60 place chance while Scoobys Delight again led till the shadows of the post before finishing third. Stephen Boyd’s Makinchanges provided Trent’s other winner when he stepped beautifully from the stand to lead all the way, returning $5.60 the win and $2.40 the place.
Wheeler now moves his attention to the Albany season starting on Friday where four Collie trainers are taking teams. The Justins’ team has a truckload of five nominated while Brian Wheeler, Dale Jackson and Karen Wallrodt look like taking two contestants each.
David Hunter had two runners at Gloucester Park last Tuesday, Bailey Major and Twentynine Twelve.
The first of Busselton’s six meetings over the summer is on Boxing Night where only standing start competitors compete.
