One of YouthCARE’s newest chaplains has created a strong foundation in the South West.
Yuko Tonai-Moore is serving as YouthCARE chaplain at Bridgetown High School two days a week.
Ms Tonai-Moore also teaches Japanese at Bridgetown and Greenbushes’ primary schools three days a week.
She said she felt comfortable in the community and was honoured to be invited into the school as a chaplain.
“I love the area, I love living in the country and being part of the community here is wonderful,” she said.
“I just want to be a part of the community and give children some positive support, that’s what I am here for.
“Everyone has a dream and I hope their dreams come true, I hope I can play a small part in their lives to make sure their dreams actually happen.”
The chaplain aimed to provide assistance for students, staff and parents.
Ms Tonai-Moore first became involved in YouthCARE 20 years ago.
In 2018, she will celebrate her 24th year in the region.
