A leading disability support organisation is hosting a workshop in Bunbury to provide vital knowledge about the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Spinal Life Australia, which offers advocacy, therapy and supports for people with spinal cord damage and related physical disabilities will visit the South West on February 22.
Spinal Life Australia manager Frances Porter said the workshop was designed to bring people together and learn more with the sessions sharing firsthand NDIS experiences.
“We want to share our firsthand experiences and how we have supported people through the transition to the national scheme,” she said.
“While current participants in the state-based NDIS will transition across, many other people will begin the scheme under the national framework.
“We know that preparation is key before attending planning meetings, to ensure you make the most of the opportunity to discuss your needs and your goals.”
While the NDIS has already commenced in some parts of WA under the State Government, these participants will begin transferring to the national scheme from April 2018.
Ms Porter said the event would also provide the opportunity for people with spinal cord damage to connect with each other.
“We want to bring people together and learn more about their needs, not just individually but as a community,” she said.
The NDIS is scheduled to be fully implemented by 2020.
The workshop will be held at the Bunbury Library from 1.30pm to 3pm.
