Businesses in Bunbury are set to benefit from free seminars hosted by the Department of Mines, Industry and Regulation.
The seminar will be held Friday, May 4 from 9:00am to 4:00pm in the City of Bunbury Council Room.
Local building and construction industries will receive updates on the Building Code of Australia and changes to WA’s building laws.
A morning session will cover changes in fire safety regulations in high-rise buildings which took effect as of March, 2018.
The session will also include information on proposed changes to the National Construction Code of 2019 that are currently out for public comment and recent changes to regulations related to the the Building Act of 2011.
The afternoon session will include information on the findings of audits, including projects being inspected now and projects identified for future inspection.
This session will also include information on work being done to improve payment security and changes to laws on how to resolve payment disputes.
Department of Mines building commissioner Ken Bowron said the seminars would be of great benefit to local building companies.
“We encourage local building industries and anyone interested to register for our regional sessions and be updated on all the useful information on offer,” he said.
