The New Savages will play their "Melbourne Hill Country Blues" for audiences at the Prince of Wales Hotel on Thursday, May 24 from 8pm.
Guitarist/vocalist Milan Milutinovic and drummer Darren Seknow are currently bringing their new single, ‘Brother, I Am Your Keeper’, to venues around Australia.
The new single tells of Cain and Abel through a modern blues sound.
Their 50-date tour began in Victoria, before sauntering its way through New South Wales, Tasmania and South Australia.
The Bunbury show marks the duo’s first tour date in Western Australia.
After hitting the Prince, they will venture to Yallingup, Margaret River and Perth.
“This will be the second time we have come to Western Australia so it’s exciting to find a new place to go,” Milutinovic said.
“The Prince of Wales is a lovely venue so we’re excited to make some new friends.
“The important thing to me is making connections with people...you want to connect with an audience.
“If you look a bit deeper into us I think there really is something there.”
Milutinovic started out in 2012, spending years learning about the finer points of blues.
Seknow and Milutinovic came together nine months ago, before putting their new single together.
In that time, the duo have had a ball at events such as Blues on Broadbeach and the Warrandyte Festival.
“It’s a highlight when I find someone who has listened to a lot of our music, genuinely enjoys it, and has really connected to it,” Milutinovic said.
When discussing their particular sound, they describe Melbourne Hill Country Blues as a mix of influential artists (Johnny Cash, The Doors etc.) and Mississippi blues.
After the conclusion of the single launch/national tour in June, Milutinovic will travel to the United States.
The singer and instrumentalist hopes the journey will teach him more about blues culture.
