Collie Power's men's side played host to a young Eaton Dardanup team, with the Power trying to keep its unbeaten run intact.
Within a minute the Power scored after Mark Tenney intercepted the ball at half way, then split the defence with a perfect through ball to Seth Chiellini, who slotted the ball into the net past the oncoming keeper.
Collie was in control of the game and should have been three or four goals up after Tenney hit the post, and numerous other chances.
But slack marking in the 18-yard box allowed a free Eaton player to receive the ball and hit it past relief goal keeper Rhett Sutherland in the 21st minute.
Collie hit back within five minutes after some good interplay between Jovan Duricic and Chiellini finally found Tenney with a nice square ball for him to toe poke the ball into the bottom right corner.
Collie could not find its usual passing game with a lot of panic on the ball and went into the half with a 2-1 lead.
Tenney started the second half pretty lively and was awarded a penalty after beating his marker near the byline where he was brought down. He stepped up but the Eaton keeper picked the right way to make a good save.
Collie eventually broke through, when in the 64th minute Dylan Gaynor picked the ball up 25 yards out after a corner and hit a lofted shot over the keeper who was caught off his line.
Then two minutes later Tenney scored with a powerful snap shot to make it 4-1 .
Tenney finally put the game out of reach in the 84th minute with his hat-trick goal, as Jovan Duricic burst through centre to find his striker who beat two players and smashed a left foot shot into the roof of the net.
With a minute to go Eaton was awarded a free kick 30 yards out.
Slack marking again allowed the taker to make an easy pass to his captain who, from 25 out drilled the ball past Sutherland in goals for a final 5-2 scoreline.
The game was a very scrappy affair, and even though coach Harker’s team got the win he will be looking for a lot of improvement away to Dynamos this week.
Hai Nguyen was the recipient of the Pilbara Cement player of the day. His energy and commitment on the field showed how people should go about their game.
