A dominant fourth-quarter performance from the Collie Eagles colts team capped off a 61 point win over the Harvey Bulls on Sunday.
Collie didn’t take advantage of its early opportunities, kicking just one goal from five shots in the first quarter, and led by just four points at the first break.
The Eagles kicked away in the second quarter with six goals to take the margin out to 31 points at half time, before the Bulls brought the lead back to 23 points at the final break, setting up an interesting final quarter.
But it was all Eagles in the final quarter as Collie kicked six goals while keeping the Bulls scoreless to seal the 15.12 (102) to 6.5 (41) win.
Taine Scolari was the Eagles’ best and finished with four goals, while Jack Dye kicked three.
The results weren’t as good for the other Eagles teams with the reserves and the women both recording losses.
The reserves started competitively but were restricted to just one goal after half time in the 4.6 (30) to 12.13 (85) loss.
The women’s team was buoyed by the debut of East Fremantle WAWFL player and Collie local Philipa Seth.
Seth was the star for the Eagles, but the team struggled to hit the scoreboard in the 2.1 (13) to 5.7 (37) loss.
The teams will travel to take on Harvey Brunswick Leschenault at Brunswick Oval on Saturday.
