AN eight-screen, state-of-the-art cinema complex – the largest in the South West - will be built at Eaton Fair Shopping Centre.
The announcement was made on Monday following an agreement between cinema operator United Cinemas and centre owner Citygate Properties.
The Eaton Fair cinema will include in-theatre dining with waiter service of food and drinks to movie lovers from electric grand recliner seats.
United Cinemas chairman Roy Mustaca said the Bunbury cinema complex would offer movie goers a new world-class experience, akin to their award-winning Craigieburn complex in Melbourne’s north.
“We are creating a fantastic opportunity for Bunbury and the gateway to the South West region,” he said.
“We believe that the cinematic experience with all the new Hollywood movies and blockbusters is still alive and well and we want to show everyone why.
“This cinema will be housing the latest in digital technology available from Screen and the latest Dolby Atmos Sound with our signature two tier Dress Circle seating design which we are famous for.”
Citygate Properties leasing manager Michael Prosser said the Eaton cinema complex would offer a movie experience like nothing seen in the South West before.
“We were determined to ensure the right cinema operator was selected,” he said. “
“This will be part of the Eaton community for decades to come, so we had to spend the time to get it right.”
