The Preatures drummer Luke Davison has hinted to the Mail fans could get a sampling of the bands’ new music when they play The Prince of Wales and Dunsborough Tavern this week.
Four-piece only released their album Girlhood last year but have already started penning new tracks.
”We don’t want to have so long between drinks this time around and we’re all having a good time nutting everything out in our little studio,” he said.
“I’d like to think we will have a little something to sneak into the set that’s new – we’ll see.”
Their tour celebrates the release of a fresh remix of the fan-favourite, Magick.
Davison said the group decided to drop a remix as a nod to original vision of the song.
”We had the album mixed by the legendary Bob Clearmountain which was a big deal for us but a lot of the vision of our songs mix-wise does come from our resident mix mastermind Jack,” he said.
“Magick is a mutual favourite of ours and seeing as though time was ticking on for the album cycle we decided to see it out with a new little spin.”
Prior to their 40-date national tour, The Preatures supported the Foo Fighters and former One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles.
Davison said supporting the Foo Fighters was a dream come true.
“They put on one of the best rock show’s I’ve ever seen. Dave Grohl has 50,000 people in the palm of his hand,” he said.
The Preatures, supported by special guest Melbourne singer-songwriter Ali Barter, will play Prince of Wales, on June 20 and Dunsborough Tavern on June 21.
