The South West Development Commission has announced the final line-up of speakers for the Critical Horizons energy futures conference that will be held in Collie this week.
WA Independent Power Association chairman Richard Harris, Collie Synfuels managing director Costa Tsesmelis and Greenpower Energy’s Alan Flavelle will be making presentations at the conference.
Mr Harris will speak about the relationship between policy and investment opportunities in the South West’s energy sector.
Mr Tsesmelis will discuss the potential for using coal to meet Australia’s hydrogen demand in an environmentally friendly way.
Mr Flavelle, the chief scientist at Greenpower Energy, will make a presentation about alternative uses for coal heading into the future.
The trio join a list of speakers which includes state energy minister Ben Wyatt, Synergy chief executive Jason Waters and SunWise Energy managing director Glen Holland.
The conference will run from 8am until 4pm on Friday, June 8 at the Harris River Estate, with a networking function to follow.
There will also be a welcome function from 6pm tonight at the Collie Motorplex to kick off the conference.
