Donnybrook has staked its claim as the premiership favourite for the 2018 South West Football League season after going undefeated over the last four rounds.
The Dons sit two games clear on top of the ladder after recording wins against Eaton, Busselton, Carey Park and Harvey Brunswick Leschenault over the last month.
The wins mean Donnybrook is now on an eight-game winning streak after starting the season with two losses.
The Dons claimed their position atop the ladder with a hard-fought six-point home win against the Eaton Boomers in round seven.
In what was a tightly-contested match all day, the margin was never more than a goal at the end of each quarter.
The Dons kept themselves in the match when the Boomers tried to kick away in the third term before running over the top of them in the final quarter for the 10.9 (69) to 9.9 (63) win.
Jace Cormack was the standout, kicking three goals in the win, while Sam Lowrie added two.
Donnybrook backed it up a week later with a commanding win on the road over Busselton.
The league’s strongest defence limited Busselton to just four goals for the entire game as the Dons came away with a 43-point win in the torrential rain.
On a day where skills were lacking, star recruit Chris Atthowe stood head and shoulders above everyone else in a best-on-ground performance.
Atthowe finished the game with four goals of his own and was influential through the midfield, while Nathan Agar and Dion Parker also starred in the 4.7 (31) to 11.8 (74) win.
The Dons then made it seven-straight with a 14-point win in a top of the table clash with Carey Park.
Donnybrook got a strong start with five goals in the first quarter and held onto its lead for the rest of the game in the 11.10 (76) to 9.8 (62) win.
The Dons found a range of contributors on the day, with Cormack, Parker and Lowrie and Tyler Patterson all kicking two goals apiece, while the consistent Shane Cristaldi was close to best on ground.
Donnybrook then extended its lead over the rest of the ladder to two games last weekend with a 35-point win over Harvey Brunswick Leschenault.
With second-placed Bunbury falling to Eaton, the Dons took advantage of the opportunity to cement their position and claimed a win over the Lions team that won the reverse fixture back in round one.
The Dons took control early with a six-goal-to-one first quarter and then slowly pushed the margin out for the remainder of the game.
Having become known for their miserly defence, the Dons showed another aspect to their game as they recorded their highest score for the season in the 15.9 (99) to 9.10 (64) win.
