Both Slammers’ sides were forced to travel before taking on the Rockingham Flames.
Shooting 10 field goals from 19 attempts, Rockingham star D’Lesha Lloyd racked up 26 points in the women’s clash.
Efforts from Lloyd and Taneisha Harrison (8) put their side in front by seven at quarter time.
Despite solid work from Charlotte van Kleef (20) and Ebony Bilcich (11), the Slammers could not stop Rockingham from extending its lead to 15 at half time.
Hope faded for the Slammers in the second half, before Maddison Allen (scoring a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds) pushed the Flames to an 82 to 64 victory.
The Slammers fared better the next day, clinching a 78 to 67 win over Joondalup Wolves in Eaton.
Both teams traded blows in the first term, before Courtney Bayliss (23) and Tayah Burrows (21) put the Slammers in front.
The visitors turned the tables in the second term, with Wolves’ captain Amy Kidner (16) almost single-handedly putting her side in front by the main break.
Slammers’ stars Cian Parsons (10) and Georgia Denehey (8) refused to let the Wolves win.
The home side piled on the points and shut down the Wolves’ offence throughout the fourth term.
The Slammers men’s side fared less favourably on the weekend, going down to the Flames by 18 before suffering a 22-point loss to Joondalup.
In Friday’s clash, Slammer Brian Voelkel (20) impressed during the first quarter.
However, aided by Curtis Washington (14) and Greg Hire (12), the Flames took a commanding lead early on.
Things went from bad to worse for the Slammers in the second half, as Justin Beard (24) and Callum Beard (19) starred for Rockingham.
Following the 96 to 78 loss to the Flames, the Slammers returned to Eaton for an entertaining clash against Joondalup.
Landing three consecutive three-point attempts in the first quarter, Brandon Thompson (14) pushed his side in front.
The visitors, however, clinched an 11-point lead at the main break, thanks to energetic performances from Jalen Billups (24) and Robert Huntington (16).
Voelkel (scoring a double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds) and Michael Lay (15) failed to prevent the Wolves from dominating the second half, before going on to score a 102 to 80 win.
The Slammers women’s side sits seventh on the ladder with a seven win, nine loss record, while the men’s squad remains 12th.
Both Slammers’ teams will be looking for redemption in round 16 against Perry Lakes Hawks.
