South West off-road motorcyclists are gearing up to tackle the annual Capel 200 Trail Bike Rally on June 30.
The event, which is celebrating its 41st anniversary, is organised by the Ironstone Adventure Riding Club and supported by partners Healthway, Yamaha and the Shire of Capel.
Organisers have anticipated around 300 riders this year.
Event organiser Rob Harvey said the event will be a great opportunity for riders to enjoy the beautiful Capel-Jarrahwood area at a safe and relaxed event.
He said the event couldn’t happen without the support of local community organisations, with part proceeds from the event donated to a local community organisation.
Sanctioned by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions and local shires, the club has designed a safe, sustainable course, using minor tracks and trails that avoid major roads and interfaces with public traffic.
The course is also alternated annually to avoid overuse.
The event starts and finishes at the Ironstone property just west of Ironstone Falls on the Capel-Donnybrook Road.
Rider registration kicks off at 7am, followed by a riders’ briefing at 8.30am.
Member for Collie-Preston – and Minister for Seniors and Ageing; Volunteering; Sport and Recreation –Mick Murray will be opening the event and flagging the riders off at 9am.
