Strung Out has forged its own path in creating strong, unique punk anthems for the 90s crowd.
The group will bring its array of hits and legion of South West followers to the Prince of Wales Hotel for a balls-to-the-wall punk experience on July 5.
Local acts Ocean Drive, Naked Wizard and Roach Bones will bring splashes of South West punk to the show.
Strung Out will perform all the tracks from sophomore effort Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues, described by the group as a collection of tracks fuelled by “socially-aware punk speed pop metal riffage”.
Fans will hear seminal tracks including Firecracker and Wrong Side of the Tracks.
Guitarist Jake Kiley said they were ready to become acquainted with Western Australia’s punk scene.
“It’s great to be back out here, everyone is having a blast and the turn-outs have been really great,” he said about their latest Australian tour.
“We’re always coming out and playing in Australia, it’s always been a great scene for us.
“It’s great to travel, see new parts of the world, and connect with people that appreciate our music.”
While signed to Fat Mike’s Fat Wreck Records, Strung Out exploded onto the Southern California punk scene following their debut album’s release in 1994.
Over the past 24 years, the group has exceeded expectations and performed to adoring masses across the globe.
“We love being out on the road, we’ve learned about other cultures,” he said.
“If we have a few months off, then that really gives us the urge to go back out and play.
“It’s a really exciting thing and it’s part of something big. We’re really fortunate that we get to do it.”
After their Bunbury show, the band will play at Hillarys’ Northshore Tavern and Perth’s Hell Hole.
