Australind police made a significant discovery at a home in Eaton late last week.
While executing a search warrant at the Eaton residence on Friday, July 6, police found 16 cannabis plants and 0.5 kilograms of cannabis material.
Australind police officers were assisted by Bunbury Detectives and a Bunbury Inquiry squad during the investigation.
A search warrant was executed on a second residence, but police found zero evidence and were unable to charge anyone.
A 73-year-old male was charged with cultivating a prohibited plant and possessing cannabis with intent to supply.
The man will face Bunbury Magistrates Court on Monday, July 16.
Australind Officer in Charge senior sergeant Mark Smith said it was a significant seizure of prohibited drugs.
He said it was the result of intelligence gathered by police and information provided by a member of the public.
Those with serious concerns about drug dealing or possession in their communities have been urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
