A man who stole two bottles of the same liquor from the same store on the same day was forced to face Bunbury Magistrates Court.
Chad Benjamin Russell attended court on Thursday, August 2 and pleaded guilty to two counts of stealing.
Police prosecutor sergeant Brian McCormack told the court Russell, at 12.10pm on May 7, took a $66 bottle of Gentleman Jacks off the shelf at Eaton Liquorland and stuck it down his pants before leaving the store.
He returned to the store at 5.41pm and stole another $66 Gentleman Jacks bottle from the premises.
Russell later made full admissions to police.
Russell told the court there was “no excuse” and that it was a “pretty stupid” decision to take the bottles.
He said he was in a rough patch at the time and did not have the money to buy the liquor.
The court heard Russell had previously been convicted for exceeding the 0.05 millilitres blood-alcohol limit while driving.
He said he was unemployed but was willing to pay off the fines over time.
Magistrate Belinda Coleman handed down a $300 fine and forced Russell to pay $132 in compensation to the Eaton liquor outlet.
