Collie Police have charged three people with fraud and stealing offences after they allegedly used a stolen credit card around town.
Acting Senior Sergeant Terry Townsend said a mobile phone, which had a credit card stored with it, had been stolen from the Collie Hospital on August 8.
He said the offenders had then allegedly used the stolen credit card at approximately 10 local businesses, many of which captured the transactions on CCTV cameras.
Sergeant Townsend said police had retrieved the mobile phone and charged a 50-year-old male, a 34-year-old female and a 30-year-old female with stealing, possession of stolen property and fraud offences.
They will appear in the Collie Magistrates Court later this month.
Sergeant Townsend said police were also investigating an altercation between two men on Steere Street between 6pm and 6.30pm on August 13.
He said the two males, who were known to each other, had gotten into an altercation which left one of the men needing to be hospitalised with a head injury.
Sergeant Townsend said it appeared the man had been hit in the head with a baseball bat.
He said the man had received stitches at the Collie Hospital and would have to be sent to Bunbury for further tests.
He also said police had spoken to witnesses at the scene and the offender would be spoken to by Bunbury Detectives.
Sergeant Townsend said police had received a report of shoplifting from Woolworths.
He said a woman with a pram had entered the store at approximately 2pm on August 9 and had placed several items of produce under the child in the pram before the leaving the store.
Police are also looking for information on two burglaries that occurred over the last week and a half.
Sometime between August 4 and 7, a house on Ogden Street was broken into through the kitchen window and ransacked.
Sergeant Townsend said it wasn’t clear if anything had been taken but the inside of the house had been spray-painted with graffiti.
On August 11, Wandering Cosmos on Steere Street was broken into and trashed, with jewellery stolen.
Police also charged a 39-year-old male with drug offences after he was pulled over when he was observed fishtailing on Atkinson Street.
