National Science Week, which runs from August 11 until August 19, provides an opportunity to encourage young people to develop an interest in science and all its possibilities.
As part of the week, Allanson Primary School held a science afternoon on Tuesday, August 14, where Year 6 students and teachers helped younger students through a series of experiments and practical activities to show off science in action.
Some of the experiments included making volcanoes from vinegar, baking soda and water, using balloons to make paper planes fly further and using salt to pick up ice with a piece of string.
