Collie’s students celebrated book week with a range of activities to promote reading.
All of the Collie’s primary schools held dress up days to mark the occasion, with students and teachers dressing up as either pirates and explorers or their favourite characters.
The theme of book week was ‘Find Your Treasure’, which led to several unique ways to celebrate the week.
Wilson Park students witnessed a presentation from author Rebecca Laffar-Smith, who took the students through the publishing process from coming with ideas to the finished product.
Allanson also marked the occasion with a book exchange, where students could swap their old books for new ones, to get children reading and a treasure map competition.
Amaroo, Fairview and St Brigid’s all celebrated the week with a costume parade, so students could show off their favourite characters.
