Following the success of their first European tour, The MoreDidge Brothers are getting set to head south with gigs in Bunbury and Margaret River later this month.
Vocalist and guitarist for the group Aiden Varro said they were looking forward to the shows where they would serve up plenty of good vibes with upbeat, unpretentious, high-energy, didge-drums-dance-roots music.
“It’ll be our usual trademark – really good vibes, we just have lots of fun on stage, we give it everything,” he said.
“It’s really cool to have Mystic Rebellion on board so it’ll be a jammed packed night.”
Speaking about their European tour, Varro said it had been a life-long dream of his realised.
“We did a quick two-week shotgun tour, we played at festivals and a couple of side shows,” he said.
“The festivals were pretty hectic, it was our first tour over there.
“Ever since I was a kid my dream was to tour Europe with a band – it was a whirlwind tour, taking it all overseas was definitely an experience.”
Formerly known as The Moorditj Brothers, meaning good, solid and deadly in Noongar, the group has a focus on respect for culture.
From modest beginnings the band soon topped the Regional AMRAP Charts with Let’s Dance for a fortnight and then remained in the Top 5 for five weeks, with their debut EP selling out at shows.
The band’s profile has continued to grow with each performance at pubs and festivals around the country.
Recently, The MoreDidge Brothers took their festival-band-spirit and evoked it into a 10-track debut album, Royal Tea, produced by Matt Gio.
The group will play at the Prince of Wales Hotel on September 21. For more information visit facebook.com/MoreDidgeBrothers.
