The season started promisingly with wins over eventual finallists Augusta Margaret River and Eaton, but a raft of injuries and poor performances saw the team drop the next seven games.
Some strong performances in the second half of the season saw the Eagles knock-off Augusta Margaret River for a second time along with league-leader Donnybrook in the upset of the season.
Two more wins over Carey Park and Harvey gave the Eagles a sniff of victory, but a couple of tough losses in the final rounds saw the Eagles finish the season in ninth position with six wins.
Teke Vernon took out the fairest and best award ahead of Mat Michael, and the pair also topped the Eagles’ tally in the Hayward Medal count with 11 and 10 votes respectively.
