JAN Van Vollenstee returned to the winners’ list when he won last Saturday’s 18-hole stableford, sponsored by BP City and Regional Fuels.
On a perfect day for golf, Van Vollenstee played the fairways long and strong to finish with 38 stableford points.
In the runner-up position, on 37 points was the flamboyant Trizzie Lawrence while Ray Cooper played well to finish third with 36 points.
Trevor McCormick was in fourth place, on 35 points, ahead of Ross Davidson and Ed Riley, each on 34 points.
Clayton Flynn, George Newlands and John Wray completed the vouchers with 33 points each.
DEBBIE Van Vollenstee made it a happy day for the Van Vollenstees when she won the ladies stableford event with her score of 32 points.
Novelty winners were: Nearest the pins – Jay Robinson (4), Tony Barker-May (7) and Colin Giblett (14); Longest first putts – Clive Pullan (6), Jim Tyler (9) and Clayton Flynn (18); Long drive on No.15 – Trevor McCormick.
ERIC Annandale was in fine form last Thursday, winning the nine hole scroungers event from good mate, Brain Banks in the runner up position.
Annandale returned the good score of 21 points from Banks, on 20 points, then another two shots to Greg White and Ed Riley who both returned 18.
Rounding out the vouchers with 17 points apiece were Graeme Jackson, Ian Stewart, Frank Battista, Terry Massara and Ray McGill.
Novelties were won by Dean Rakich (4), Jim Moyses (6), Trevor Graham (9) and David Broadbent (1).
JOHN Michalak was the winner of last Tuesday’s leisure day event with the good score of 39 stableford points.
Ray Alp and Frank Battista both finished with 38 points with Alp taking the runner-up position on a countback.
Finishing on 37 points to claim the best vet award and providing the highlight of the day was Phil Warburton, the octogenarian who aced the par 3 number 14 hole, the first hole in one recorded since April 2016.
Jeff Crowe finished with 36 points, ahead of Paul Moyses and Trevor Graham on 35, followed by Steven Ireland on 34.
Visitor, Brendan Burvill, together with Jarrad Miller, John Wray and Peter Coombs rounded out the vouchers with 33 points each.
Novelties went to George Newlands (4), Paul Moyses (7), Terry Reeves (9), Phil Warburton (14 HIO) and Brad Swan (18).
This Saturday’s event will be club sponsored, being the AFL grand final day.
