In a bid to put Bunbury on the map as an entertainment destination, a new marketing campaign was launched last week.
The initiative, Entertain Me Bunbury aims to bring together the best restaurants, bars and venues, with local businesses teaming up to support one another.
FIREY Productions director and founder of the campaign James Hayward said it was about championing the fantastic offerings Bunbury had to offer.
“We have some of the best restaurants and fantastic options in terms of accommodation and entertainment, in fact we’ve got the best in the entire South West,” he said.
“The response from businesses have been excellent and people are really excited about our program to get people back into the CBD enjoying all the fantastic businesses and offerings we’ve got.
“We’re not the whole answer, we’re just a little bit of the puzzle and we’re working cooperatively with other groups.”
Bayview Bar, Fitzgeralds and Lone Star have already come on board and Mr Hayward said he hoped more would join.
Fitzgeralds part owner Fiona Fitzgerald said it was about bringing people and money in from outside the region to better the whole area.
“It’s a campaign that has been used in a few areas around Australia and it’s been very effective,” she said,
“It highlights and showcases the range of activities that you can do in an evening or over a weekend if you’re visiting a region.”
Bayview Bar manager Breeanna Batrick said she had been excited to get involved with the campaign and in making Bunbury the destination rather than just a place to pass through.
“We get a lot of people passing through, which doesn’t make sense when Bunbury is really the hub of entertainment and food,” she said.
Mr Hayward said he hoped the campaign would encourage locals to spend more time in the CBD and promote the city as a getaway destination to holiday makers.
“We’ve also launched the website that will put every restaurant, accommodation and thing to do in Bunbury at everyone’s fingertips,” he said.
