B-GRADE
Collie travelled to the Bunbury Recreation ground to take on Colts. With the pitch looking helpful to the bowlers, Collie won the toss and decided to bowl.
With new ball specialists Steve Ireland and Jason Borrett unavailable, Brayden Kent and Mark Williams had first go with the new ball.
Williams swung the ball well and with Kent, had Colts on the back foot at 2-13 early on.
Colts steadied and reached 57 before Matt Tanner broke through for Collie’s third wicket.
Tanner’s first wicket brought about a collapse with Tanner getting another three wickets and Tyson Hayes pitching in with another two for himself.
With Colts on the ropes at 8 for 98, Williams was brought back into the bowling attack to finish off the tail.
Collie got the last two wickets quickly and had Colts all out for a total of 104, a great bowling effort.
Best Bowlers: M. Tanner 4 for 16 from 10; M. Williams 3 for 27 from 9; T. Hayes 2 for 33 from 10.
Collie’s run chase didn’t start well with Brayden Kent back in the sheds quickly without scoring.
Mark Williams came to the crease to join Bailey Moloney and was on a mission from the start.
Williams took the Colts opening bowlers to all parts of the ground and got the score past 50 quickly.
With Williams going strong, Moloney tried to join in on the action but was trapped LBW for 10.
Kyle Hulls strode out to the crease and then strode straight back after being trapped LBW first ball.
Greg Tomasini managed to get through the hat-trick ball and combined with Williams to get the score past the 104 required in the 20th over.
Best Batsmen: M. Williams 70; B. Moloney 10; G. Tomasini 10.
Man of the Match: Mark Williams.
With the win making it three wins from three games, the Collie B-grade team will sit at the top of the ladder for their bye this weekend.
