Four South West community organisations will share in almost $70,000 worth of funding after receiving generous Lotterywest grants.
Bunbury MLA Don Punch said the community owed a debt of gratitude to lotto players everywhere after four local community groups were awarded funding.
“Four more community organisations are set to benefit from Lotterywest grants and it is all thanks to the WA community who play lotto and buy other Lotterywest products,” he said.
“Lotterywest has an amazing track record of distributing funds to worthy community organisations and this announcement will see $67 065 shared between four local groups.
“The diversity of the groups receiving these funds is a demonstration of how widely the benefits of Lotterywest is spread through our community.”
Investing in our Youth, which runs the Collie Valley Child and Parent Centre, received $21,915 to be used for the purchase of a vehicle to support early prevention and family services in the region.
Foster Families South West will be given $10,150 to support a sensory therapy library for South West foster children with specialised needs.
Bunbury Multicultural Group was awarded $20,000 to be contributed to the presentation of the 2019 Live Lighter South West Multicultural Festival.
Whilst Astronomical Society of the South West will use $15,000 to purchase equipment to support astronomical education activities.
Mr Punch said he wanted to celebrate the hard work the community groups had put in to get the funding from Lotterywest.
“I am really proud to be involved with announcing these grants for Bunbury based organisations who provide services that benefit the broader South West region,” he said.
“The funded activities range from education to community development to community celebrations and family support which means there are so many people from all walks of life who will directly benefit from this investment in our community.
“I would like to congratulate all of the organisations, not just for their success in attracting extra funds to support their services but also for the work they do everyday in our community.”
