Learner fined for driving alone
A 35-year-old Collie woman was fined $500 in the Collie Magistrates Court last week after being convicted of driving without a licence.
Stacey Isobel Ugle did not appear in court on Wednesday, November 14 but was convicted by Magistrate Evan Shackleton in her absence of one count of no authority to drive due to never having held a driver’s licence.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Morrissey told the court Ugle did have a learner’s permit at the time of the offence on October 8, but that she had been caught by police driving unaccompanied.
