To celebrate its recent impressive recycling statistics, the Shire of Dardanup is gearing up for its first Buy it Back Fair.
Shire of Dardanup events officer Andrea Carew-Reid said the aim of the fair was to educate people of all ages about recycling and promote its importance.
“We are encouraging community members to sell their second hand items at the event, and we wanted it to be free for people to have a stall to encourage more people to be involved,” she said.
“The statistic told us that more people really are starting to care about their environmental footprint, and it’s important we help keep this up.
“There will also be lots of free family activities based around recycling education including loose parts play, an upcycled circus workshop and an interactive worm farm display.”
More than 40 stalls will take part in the event selling everything from art to furniture, second-hand books and antiques.
The fair will be held at the Eaton Foreshore during National Recycling Week on Sunday, November 18, 2018, from 9am.
