Wrapping up an action-packed year, Matty T Wall and his band will perform a fun show, filled with rock-blues vibes, in Bunbury next month.
The singer-songwriter will join Ric Whittle, Stephen Walker, Gordon Cant and others at the Prince of Wales Hotel on Saturday, December 1.
“I’ve played in Bunbury before and the crowds there are really enthusiastic, there seems to be a lot of die-hard blues fans down there,” he said.
“Being on stage, playing guitar, is more comfortable to me than being at a party and talking to complete strangers.
“I tend to be a bit introverted. However, when I am on stage, this other persona comes out and I am really comfortable with it.
“The thing that makes me feel good is making other people feel good.
“I do music to inspire people and make them feel good about themselves.”
The show will celebrate the release of Wall’s new, 12-track album, Sidewinder.
Legendary sound engineer Bob Clearmountain – known for working with Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, INXS, Crowded House and many other big names – helped Wall to refine his new record.
“When I play live, I put it out there; I have a lot of raw energy on stage because I’ve got a heavy metal background,” he said.
“I needed to portray that energy and bring that across to the album.
“That was my intention with this record and it has definitely hit the spot.”
The singer/songwriter/bandleader/vocalist has had a phenomenal 2018.
After carrying out tours of the east coast, he performed at this year’s Blues at Bridgetown Festival.
Wall now has his sights set on collaborating with an array of talented musicians in 2019.
