Police with the help of CB Traffic Solutions have placed light boards around Bunbury reminding people to be mindful in the lead up to Christmas.
South West Community Engagement Senior Constable Neale Horsley said he wanted everyone to have a Merry Christmas and not become a victim of the Christmas grinch.
“The boards are there to remind people coming up to Christmas, crooks seem to take advantage – breaking into people’s homes because there are expensive gifts around,” he said.
“It’s also a message of look, lock, leave – don’t leave valuables inside your motor vehicle any time in clear view.
“If you do leave valuable in your car it’s always best to have them out of view, so it doesn’t give criminals a chance to look inside and break in – that’s the clear message.”
Constable Horsley said sadly criminals don’t take time off over the Christmas and New Year period.
“At this time of year you’re going to get suspicious people hanging around homes and car parks so contact police immediately,” he said.
If you see anything suspicious contact Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
