A family has demanded answers after hoons caused damage to their Strickland Street property last week.
Between 11pm and 11.30pm on December 2, Veronica Clauws found out that a car had been driven through her front garden.
She said neighbours saw a white Holden Commodore knock over a tree before damaging her letter box and her car.
The culprits then immediately fled the scene.
Ms Clauws, her partner, and her son were home at the time.
“The car was doing burnouts, we could hear the screeching, before it crashed into our front garden,” she said.
“We went to get up and have a look. The neighbours said the car had actually crashed into my car as well.
“It’s alarming that the people doing this are endangering people’s lives. If my car wasn’t there, they would’ve hit our front room which is where we sleep.
“We called the police, but, because there wasn’t any registration, there wasn’t much for them to go on.
“Even though it’s a major part of town, it’s typically a good neighbourhood. No accidents have occurred over the past few years here.”
Being eight months pregnant, Ms Clauws said the incident was deeply troubling.
“It’s a big inconvenience. It will probably cost a few thousand dollars to fix the back bumper,” she said.
“People should drive safely. It could have ended up a lot worse, they could have ruined their lives or someone else’s.”
After posting about the incident on social media, Ms Clauws was inundated with support from Bunbury residents.
Those with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
