The group spent time crafting 100 wooden bowls.
Its members then filled the bowls with lollies, donated by Woolworths Treendale, before wrapping each bowl in cellophane.
The group handed the bowls over to Silver Chain representatives on Tuesday, December 11.
Silver Chain will distribute the wooden bowls to their high-care clients in Bunbury during the festive season.
This is the fifth year the Bunbury Woodturners Group has run the campaign.
Bunbury Woodturners Group committee member Barry Laidler thanked the helpers and Woolworths Treendale for their efforts.
“Silver Chain does a brilliant job. This gives them a bit of satisfaction at Christmas time when they get to hand the bowls out to people. They really look forward to it, as well,” he said.
“Our members feel a sense of achievement in doing something like this and giving something back.”
Mr Laidler said the group was “friendly”, and was always looking for new members.
“It’s a social group as much as it is a woodturning club. We teach people, as well,” he said.
“We also have a growing number of women learning to turn, which is really good. We also have a few younger people too.
“It’s a community-minded thing and a not-for-profit organisation.”
The group is part of the Western Australian Woodturning Association.
